Shihan George Kolovos

Shihan George Kolovos is one of Australia martial arts most recognised faces. As 5th dan in traditional Kyokushin Karate, Shihan George, has recently clocked up in excess of 30 years as a full time trainer in the system (a record that not too many can boast). George was also one of Australia's most seasoned Kyokushin fighters in the early days of Australian Karate. Never one to shy away from the rigors and challenges of the Kyokushin system, George followed the national circuit with true spirit and walked away with numerous championship trophies to his credit. Shihan also represented Australia with great success on more than one occaision in the international competition arena. It was this spirit and obvious love of his sport that gave him the respect and impeccable reputation that he so richly deserves today. Not one to rest on his reputation however, Shihan still chooses to be in the arena of challenge; he now runs a successful motivational speaking circuit throughout the local Australian business sector. Inspirational verbal tirade and his awesome trade mark "tameshiwari" (breaking) demonstrations, has given him a career pathway that he most likely never expected. Business groups keep his presentations a regular event in the on-going staff motivation and training programs that keep their employess performing. Shihan George's "you can do it" attitude and magnetic personality has business groups and the general public alike regularly coming back for more.

In 2002, Shihan Kolovos was awarded Instructor of the Year and inducted into the Blitz Hall of Fame. A recent honour was bestowed to Shihan Kolovos in the form of an affiliation certification by the Thailand  Ministry of Education for his relentless efforts to spread the sport and art of muay thai here in Australia.(George is founder and head trainer of the Titans Kickboxing and Muay Thai Club in Australia, and is also a member of I.S.S in Thailand, a gym for professional fighters run by Sifu McGuiness, where the majority of K1 fighters train.

Other credits to his name also include his status as one of Australias foremost martial arts and Kickboxing promoters in this country. There are virtually no other instructors / promoters in Australia that provides such a full tournament circuit for the benefit of all stylists. Shihan also promotes professional events and is the President of the WRKA (World Ring Karate Australia) promoting Ring Karate and Kick Boxing events, in addition to this he also promotes the Brute Force Challenge series of Muaythai boxing events sanctioned by the WMC (World Muaythai Council).

Shihan Kolovos is a nationally recognised trainer and assessor and also holds the certificate IV qualification for sport coaching in martial arts. Shihan Kolovos joins also the Kenshusei team in the delivery of nationally recognised qualification courses to the general public via his well established and respected martial arts school.
